Tesla has issued a recall for 3,878 Cybertrucks made from November to April of this year due to a manufacturing defect causing its accelerator pedals to get stuck.

The company announced the recall via the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, noting that the angular EV's accelerator pads "may dislodge" or become "trapped" if high force is applied, increasing risk of collision.

Tesla pointed to the "unapproved change introduced lubricant" during the cars' component assembly as the main cause for the issue.

The issue was first noted on March 31, but Tesla was only able to finish its investigations by April 12.

Several Cybertruck owners have since come out of experiencing the same issues with their EV trucks, calling attention to what might be its biggest design flaw yet.

The automaker has earlier announced that future deliveries of the Cybertrucks would be delayed as the company tries to resolve a potential road crash risk.

Tesla Cybertrucks Swamped with Manufacturing Issues

Since its release late last year, Tesla's flagship EV trucks have been involved in several controversies, many of which stem from issues in how the cars were structured.

Several reports have previously highlighted multiple design flaws in the car, not only making it difficult to mass produce but threatening the lives of both drivers and pedestrians, as well.

The biggest grievance noted was the single 48-volt wiring architecture many experts have warned could suddenly stall the car in the middle of the road because of its single wire line structure.

It means that if one feature of the car could malfunction, other essential parts could potentially not work as well.

This is not to mention safety concerns that have arisen from its automated driving assistant system, of which the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has rated as "poor."

The company earlier recalled 1.61 million Model S, X, 3, and Y cars from China due to concerns about the safety of its system.

It remains uncertain if the issue is also present in newer Tesla models, including the Cybertruck.

Cybertruck Production Issues Hit Tesla's EV Sales

With every misstep heavily covered on social media and online news outlets, Tesla's sales have significantly slowed down as concerns for its products spread among potential customers.

The company has earlier predicted lower sales this year as production and delivery issues affect its operations worldwide.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has since laid off 10% of the company's global workforce, or at least 14,000, as a cost-cutting measure.
