OnePlus 5 vs Galaxy S8 vs HTC U11 vs Xperia XZ Premium: Charging Speed Battle

The OnePlus first introduced its Dash Charge battery technology in 2016 with the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. As OnePlus 5 promises "a full day of power in half an hour", and for the most part, this promise does not stray away from reality, offering a much faster charging experience than its three biggest rivals in the tech market this year, the Samsung Galaxy S8, HTC U11 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium. OnePlus 5, with its 3,300 mAh battery, in a typical charging scenario against the Galaxy S8 and HTC U11, both has 3,000 mAh battery equipped while the Xperia XZ Premium features a 3,230mAh battery.

According to BGR, on Friday, SuperSaf TV, a YouTube user shared a video comparing the charging speeds of the OnePlus 5, Galaxy S8, HTC U11 and Xperia XZ Premium and how OnPlus 5 beats this year's biggest Android flagships in a straightforward charging test to see who can get to 100 percent first. All four powerful devices were connected to stock chargers, placed in an Airplane Mode and drained to a 1% battery life.

After 30 minutes of charging, the OnePlus 5 was at 59% charged, meanwhile the HTC U11 jumped at 43%, then Xperia XZ Premium was at 41% and the Samsung's powerhouse, Galaxy S8 was at a 36%. Then after an hour, the Galaxy S8 picked up the pace, jumping at 72%, while the Sony phone lagged behind at 69%. The HTC U11 outmatched both the Galaxy and the Xperia with 79% charge, however, OnePlus blew them all reaching at 92%, according to Android Headlines.

Ultimately, after an hour and 28 minutes of charging, the OnePlus flagship killer was conclusively the first smartphone to hit 100 percent 100%. Second is the Galaxy S8 at 1:41, third is the HTC U11 at 1:44 and Sony's Xperia XZ Premium at 2:40. Furthermore, OnePlus 5 proves to be not just a powerful flagship killer butclearly one of the fastest charging devices on market.
