HTC Tiara spotted at FCC, will be hitting Sprint soon

Sprint is the only major U.S. carrier which does not yet offer Windows Phone 8 (WP8) powered smartphones. The carrier has now put up a Windows Phone landing page on its website and we know that Samsung and HTC will be among the first to bring their WP8 handsets to the carrier, but we don't know exactly which WP8 smartphones will debut on the carrier; however, a Sprint HTC smartphone has been spotted at FCC indicating that the Taiwanese company may be the first to offer a WP8 smartphone on the carrier.

The mid-range HTC Tiara is still waiting for an official announcement and it seems that the handset will head to Sprint.

An Engadget report says, "Bearing a model number that branches off from the rumored Tiara, the PO88100 looks destined for the Now Network as it reps some very carrier-specific frequencies, namely the presence of CDMA and LTE Band 25."

The HTC Tiara is expected to pack in impressive features in its category. The handset is expected to sports a 4.3-inch WVGA LCD2 display. A 1.2 GHz dual-core processor powers the handset. The Tiara will be equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Tiara is expected to have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage capacity. A 1800mAh battery will fuel the handset.

Sprint customers will be happy to find a WP8 smartphone in the carrier's portfolio, though the other three major carriers have a top-end smartphone on offer from Nokia. Verizon recently got the Nokia Lumia 928, while the Nokia Lumia 925 is exclusive to T-Mobile. Similarly, the Nokia Lumia 920 is available only on AT&T. The carrier is also expected to launch the 41-megapixel Nokia EOS soon.

So though we can expect HTC Tiara to hit Sprint soon, its subscribers may have to wait a bit longer to lay their hands on a high-end WP8 smartphone.

Neither HTC nor Sprint have announced their plans to launch the HTC Tiara on the carrier, but as the handset has appeared on FCC a launch seems to be sooner than later.
