Apple may offer gold iPhone 5S and low-cost iPhone in multi-color

A new report claims that when Apple announced the iPhone 5S, the smartphone will be offered in a new gold color, alongside the usual black and white models. The report also claims that the upcoming low-cost iPhone will be available in multiple colors and the colors have been taken from Apple's bumper cases.

Apple is expected to announce two new iPhones this September - the flagship iPhone 5S - and a new low-cost iPhone, which the company will use to address the entry-level smartphone market. The iPhone 5S isn't expected to feature any new design changes, but according to a new report, Apple will add a third color option to the lineup next to its black and white model - gold.

Makotakara is reporting that Apple will add a new gold color option to the iPhone 5S. The choice of color is questionable since the company has only previously released its flagship iPhone in black or white color options. However, there have been recent leaks suggesting that Apple will ship the smartphone in gold. BGR recently leaked photos of what the site claims are the SIM card strays for the iPhone 5S. The trays are shown in two color choices - silver and gold - and the site believed that Apple might ditch black for gold. This new report, however, claims that Apple still plans on releasing a black iPhone 5S, but it will add gold as a third color choice.

The site goes on to say that the iPhone 5S will get a camera upgrade and it will include a dual-LED flash, which is not found on the current iPhone 5. Apple is expected to add a faster processor and more RAM to the smartphone, just like it has done with past "S" moniker iPhones.

Makotakara also claims that Apple's upcoming low-cost iPhone will be offered in multiple colors at launch. Apple reportedly chose the colors from the bumper cases the company sold for the iPhone 4 and 4S. The site claims that the rumored $99 iPhone will be available in choices of black, white, pink, orange, and blue when it goes on sale in September.

Take this report with a grain of salt, as Apple hasn't made any official announcement.
