HTC One arrives in a Glamour Red color option

HTC launched its flagship smartphone the HTC One in only a couple of colors. Now the company has introduced a Glamour Red color option of the smartphone, which will initially head to UK.

The HTC One has already sold over five million units within the first 30 days of release and the company wants to attract more customers with the launch of a new color. On June 27, HTC announced that the HTC One will be coming soon in the Glamour Red color exclusively to customers of UK retailer Phones 4u from mid-July.

Philip Blair, President of EMEA, HTC, said (via Engadget), "We have always been committed to offering consumers the flexibility to share their personalities through their choice of mobile phone, whether through colour, customisation or features. The new HTC One in Glamour Red showcases the power of our flagship model in a colour that demands attention, whilst maintaining the high standards set for sophisticated design and build quality."

It seems that the launch of a new color for HTC One is in response to the recently launched colors of Samsung Galaxy S4. Both the HTC One and the Galaxy S4 have attracted many customers globally and it seems that each smartphone will want to find an edge over the other, even if it's in regards of the body color.

Currently, in the U.S., the HTC One is available in Glacier Silver and Stealth Black colors. We will have to wait and see if the company launches more color options for the HTC One in the U.S.

The HTC One packs in top-end hardware specifications but unfortunately the smartphone still runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Even though some international models of the handset have received Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, U.S. customers are still waiting to receive the software update from their individual carriers.
