AT&T LG G Vista launches on Aug. 22 with improvements over Verizon version – Price, specs, registration

AT&T is getting ready to launch the LG G Vista soon, as the carrier has already started to allow customers to register their interest in the device.

The massive LG G Vista made its debut recently, landing on Verizon Wireless' network with a $99.99 price tag on a two-year service agreement (it's now down to $49.99 on-contract). Various rumors suggested that AT&T will break Verizon's exclusivity for the LG G Vista and launch the device on its network as well, and it now turns out that those whispers were accurate.

AT&T has officially announced that the LG G Vista will soon join its inventory, and interested customers can now register on the carrier's website to receive more information about the smartphone's availability. It's worth pointing out that pre-registration does not involve any commitment or payment, as it is not the same thing as pre-ordering the device. Pre-registration simply allows interested customers to learn more details about a device as soon as they become available.

The AT&T LG G Vista will cost $49.99 on a two-year contract, or $354.99 with no commitment. The smartphone will also be available through the carrier's monthly installment program, which may seem more advantageous to some. The LG G Vista will cost $14.80 per month for 24 months through AT&T Next 18, or $17.75 per month for 20 months on AT&T Next 12.

In terms of specifications, the AT&T LG G Vista sports some slight improvements compared to the Verizon model of the handset. More specifically, AT&T's version comes with the same 5.7-inch display, but with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 instead of the qHD (960 x 540) resolution found on the Verizon LG G Vista. Other specs include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory of up to 32GB, and a large 3,200 mAh removable battery. The 8-megapixel rear camera on the LG G Vista also gets laser auto-focus technology in AT&T's model, while a 1.3-megapixel front shooter with Gesture Shutter will allow for selfies and video chats. On the software side, the LG G Vista runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

The AT&T LG G Vista will go on sale on Aug. 22 and will be available through the carrier's stores, both online and physical retail locations. For more information, head over to AT&T's announcement here, or register your interest in the device at this link.
