Moto 360 price, specs revealed ahead of Sept. 4 launch, courtesy of Best Buy

The highly-anticipated Moto 360 smartwatch now has a price tag and some spec details, courtesy of an early Best Buy listing.

Motorola has scheduled a press event for Sept. 4, where it is widely expected to unveil the successors to its Moto X and Moto G smartphones, as well as its much-touted smartwatch. The Moto 360 was teased on several occasions and it even made an appearance back at the Google I/O developer conference in June, with Motorola pegging the launch for "later this summer."

Motorola's upcoming Moto 360 is one of the most highly anticipated devices of this year and Best Buy has now spilled the beans ahead of the official launch, revealing some spec details and an attractive price tag for the gadget.

It's worth pointing out that the listing was only available for a brief amount of time, as Best Buy quickly pulled it, but the folks over at Droid-Life made a screenshot for everyone to see.

Best Buy's Moto 360 listing revealed that the smartwatch will sport a 1.5-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 290 and a pixel density of 205 pixels per inch. Other specs and features include a Texas Instruments processor under the hood, a heart-rate monitor, waterproof capabilities, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and a stainless steel case with leather bands. In terms of pricing, the Moto 360 will apparently cost $249.99.

Considering that it will come with a premium build and several additional features compared to the recently-launched LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, the slightly higher price tag seems only fair. As a reminder, the Samsung Gear Live costs $200, while the LG G Watch comes in at $229.

Motorola's Moto 360 smartwatch also sets itself apart from the competition with its beautiful design, sporting a more classical form factor with a round display rather than the rectangular design of other smartwatches.

On the software side, the Moto 360 will run Google's new Android Wear platform for wearable devices, just like the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live.

As previously mentioned, Motorola is expected to officially unleash its Moto 360 smartwatch on Sept. 4, unveiling the device alongside the Moto G2 and Moto X+1 smartphones. The above-listed specs and price remain unconfirmed for now, but we'll soon learn all there is to know about the Moto 360 straight from the source. We'll bring you the official scoop as soon as Motorola makes the announcement, but take everything else with a grain of salt in the meantime.
