Windows 10 Back-to-Back Builds Show Wi-fi, Edge, Updated Cortana, 300 Additonal Fixes

Windows 10 has released a new preview that allows users to test its new browser. Microsoft Edge will be replacing the company's web browser, Internet Explorer.

The company's newly-developed web browser will make its debut on Windows 10. Apart from Microsoft Edge, Build 10158, which gives previews of the new operating system, also gave a glimpse of a near full-blown Cortana experience.

The Cortana voice assistant also has updates made for its improvement. Microsoft's answer to Apple's Siri is now compatible to Windows 10 desktops and laptops. The voice assistant can also access free storage such as OneBox, allowing wider range and easier search command for users.

Formerly just a mobile app, Cortana boasts of full browser compatibility with Microsoft Edge. Digital Trends reported that the voice assistant appears on the browser's address tab. While browsing, users can command Cortana.

Another important feature highlighted by the Windows 10 beta release is Microsoft Wi-fi Support. The wi-fi support allows Windows 10 devices to connect to internet hotspots in the world, fast.

Build 10158 was released on June 30. But the software company released another build, Build 10159, less than 24 hours after. The official Windows blog announced the new build, saying that 10159, "in addition to more fixes (over 300 of them!), took in one very interesting change."

The new build showed an improved user interface and login screen. The new wallpaper is highlighted by the minor changes. Build 10159 also boasts of 300 added bug fixes, while Build 10158 reported no major bugs for the OS. No major problems were reported in the newest build.

Windows 10 is set to be launched on July 29. With the said event comes Microsoft's marketing of its other platforms, like Windows 10 Phone and web browser Edge. Specs and prices have been making rounds in the internet since last month.
