Mindfield Games Announces Upcoming VR Title Pollen

Indie developer Mindfield Games has announced its upcoming virtual reality (VR) game title Pollen. The game will be launched in a VR version for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) as well as in a desktop version videogame for PC, Mac and Linux systems.

Pollen is a game title belonging to the first-person genre. The space exploration action is set on Titan, the largest moon of Saturn. Titan is the only moon in the solar system that has vast liquid seas and an atmosphere. Therefore, there is a chance that life may exist.

The player is sent in the videogame as a worker for a space company called Rama Industries. He is to replace a mechanic who lost on Titan in a work accident. Once he gets there, he is to join the team composed of four remaining personnel of the Research Station M.

The players have the mission to continue working on the research of an unknown object discovered below the Titan's crust. Each step forward will lead them to new discoveries inside the research station. They will find out the secrets the crew have uncovered about their fate.

The co-founder of Mindfield Games, Olli Sinerma, commented about this new game title, saying that everything in the game world has been made interactive and virtual reality is about freedom for the players to do whatever they like to experiment with. The objects in a virtual reality game can be operated or examined in the same way, one intends to manipulate them in real-life. According to Sinerma, the player actions define how the players "uncover what has happened in Research Station M".

Pollen new video game will come in PC, Mac and Linux system versions. The game will also support Oculus Rift, OSVR and HTC Vive. When Project Morpheus will be launched in the first half of 2016, Pollen intends to support the device as well.
