Alleged Photo Of Nexus 5 Makes Its Rounds Online

On Aug 17, Monday, the alleged first photo of the Nexus 5 has made its rounds on the internet, showing off the design of the rebooted Google flagship. The arrival of this year's Nexus 5 has been widely speculated and closely followed in the past few months by a blog called thenexus5.com. The website has rounded up the rumours that have accumulated about the device, claiming that a source close to Google confirmed that the release of the refreshed flagship is true.

The said photo, which cannot be published in this article, shows a flagship with a distinct 'NOT FOR SALE' sticker at the back. The phone has the trademark Nexus logotype as well. The image is shown in The Irish Examiner. By the looks of it, the posted photo seems to confirm the features of the revamped Nexus 5. Google has been known to launch smartphones with their own names. This time around, the company seems to have opted to refresh Nexus 5, which critics say is Google's best flagship so far.

The image in question shows properties which have been present in the renders of the new device, which have been recently released. Also present in the photo is the LG logo. A protruding rear camera and a fingerprint sensor are also seen at the back of the smartphone. Nexus 5 is rumoured to be available in 5.7 and 5.2 versions. Two different companies will handle the variants. The 5.7 version will be made by Huawei, while the smaller one will be made by LG.

Nexus 5 has originally been released in 2013, and Nexus 6 has been released the year after. Users of the new Google-owned handset, however, have not been very pleased with the Nexus 6. Thus, they clamored for a device much closer to the Nexus 5. No official release date has been set, but specs have been speculated on for the past few months. They are really close to  the Nexus 5.

The smaller variant will have a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 4-megapixel front camera for selfies, according to thenexus5.com. The 5.2-inch screen will also have a 1920 x 1080 P-OLED HD display. It also features a non-removable battery with a capacity of more than 3,000 mAh. The N5 is said to have a price range of about $400. Google, LG and Huawei have not commented regarding the posted photo.
