‘Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter’ News: New Trailer Teases New Gameplay Elements, Semi-Open World Concept

Bigben Studios and Frogwares has recently unveiled a gameplay trailer for the upcoming "Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter." The clip has provided players a hint of new gameplay elements that they can expect from the game, such as other playable characters and a semi-open game world.

Avid fans of the "Sherlock Holmes" game franchise have been eagerly awaiting the release of "Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter." In March, Frogwares and BigBen Studios has unveiled a trailer for the upcoming game. However, a newly released clip has given gamers an 11-minute glimpse at the famed detective's new adventure, as stated in a report posted on Playstation.Blog.

The trailer starts out with the British detective Sherlock Holmes meeting a young boy named Tom Hurst. The boy has approached Holmes to enlist the detective's help in finding his father. The scene appears to mark the beginning of Holmes' new case. Holmes then heads to Whitechapel to collect clues surrounding the disappearance of Tom's father.

Some of the new gameplay elements featured in the 11-minute trailer include a semi-open world that players can explore, as indicated in a report posted on Gamespot. The said new feature allows gamers to move freely around the game's London streets and various locations. However, traveling to other London districts entails the use of a horse and carriage. Players can choose where to go through a location selection screen. Once a destination is chosen, a loading screen will then follow.

Meanwhile, the upcoming "Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter" will also allow gamers to play other characters in certain parts of the game. One of these characters includes the young man, Wiggins, as shown in the gameplay trailer. Gamers can take control of Wiggins to continue Holmes' investigation or follow certain suspects.

Other gameplay elements featured in the said trailer teases of "skill-based" activities such as eavesdropping, as stated in the same report. However, players can reportedly opt to turn this off. Gamers can also switch the game view to a first-person perspective to help in uncovering more clues.

Avid "Sherlock Holmes" game fans can enjoy the newest addition to the franchise in June. "Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter" has been set for release on June 10 for the PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
