Xbox Free Games with Gold: June 2016 Lineup

Microsoft has announced its June lineup for games with Gold, which is available to all Xbox Live Gold members. If you were expecting something like "Red Dead Redemption" or "Bioshock Infinite," then you will be a bit disappointed. There is still plenty to look forward to, however, since the June lineup still a step above the May offerings.

Without further ado, here are the quirky games you can get for the Games with Gold next month:

Goat Simulator

Yep. There's a game all about controlling a goat and causing a whole lot of mayhem in a uniquely goat kind of way, available on games with Gold next month. Goat Simulator is normally priced at $9.99. If you are trying to imagine it, Enstarz reported that it is reminiscent of the old school "Tony Hawk Pro Skater" game from Playstation 1 mixed in with some GTA—the difference mainly is that you get to be a goat this time and no pro skating.

The Crew

Next up is "The Crew" by Ubisoft. This is an open-world racing game that has received mixed reviews. Critics were a bit harsh towards the game when it was first released but racing fans have grown to love it anyway. The plot is engaging enough, although a bit cheesy, but game progression, customization and upgrades make it a worthwhile game for many. This one should not be missed by Xbox Live Gold members and is normally priced at $29.99. Check out the massively entertaining trailer below.

Super Meat Boy

This game is a classic 2d game. Classic frustrations that come with a difficult game requiring quick reflexes can be expected. Challenge accepted? Then "Super Meat Boy" is the game for you. Get your guy to the end of each stage while jumping and dodging obstacles on the way. The game normally sells for $14.99. You have been warned, this game requires patience mixed with proper reflexes.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

This game is by far the biggest one being offered to Gold members. The reboot of this game features a squad from all over the earth. "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" features immersive gameplay and makes players commander, financial manager and scientific researcher all in one. See the E3 trailer below.

Daily Star noted that "Goat Simulator" is available from June 1 to 30. Meanwhile, "The Crew" is available from June 16 to July 15. While "Super Meat Boy" will be available starting June to June 15. Lastly, "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" is free to download from June 16 to June 30.

Titles like "Defense Grid 2," "Peggle" are still available until the end of May. Whereas, "Costume Quest" will be available until June 15.

For those who are still thinking of getting an Xbox One, games with Gold is available for around two weeks every month. This makes their scheduled dates of release worth noting. Backward compatibility also unlocks all Xbox 360 games for the Xbox One.
