Logitech Creates Keyboard For The 9.7-inch iPad Pro, Makes It Lightest Laptop Available

Earlier this month, Apple released a campaign that claimed the iPad Pro was as good, if not better, than a computer. Of course, using the gadget as a notebook means that there is a need for a complimenting accessory. Fortunately, Logitech has released the ideal and most efficient partner for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

The Verge notes that Apple actually released the larger 13-inch iPad Pro with a snap-on keyboard of its own. However, it somehow defeated the purpose of a more portable device, simply because the iPad itself was relatively large. In addition, there were issues with the Apple-issued keyboard itself. The Apple keyboard was uncomfortable to the touch, lacked backlighting and was absent of any iPad-specific control keys.

Apple's release of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro solved the size issue. Unfortunately, there was still that same, inefficient keyboard - it was just smaller.

The wait was relatively a long one, but a company has finally released an ample keyboard. Logitech created tha Create 9.7, which not only suits the 9.7-inch iPad Pro better, but also costs less than Apple's own Smart Keyboard.

The Logitech device is only $129.99, fitting the Apple gadget perfectly at 7.0 in x 9.8 in x 0.9 all around and weighing in at only 426 grams. It comes in a black and blue variant.

Logitech also created a keyboard that is compatible with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and is priced at $149.99. This one is 12.4 in x 9.05 in x 0.78 in and is 725 grams. It comes in a red/gold, blue/silver, black/silver, violet/black and pure black options.

The Logitech Create has plenty of features that the Apple Smart Keyboard does not have. Firstly, it has real, movable keys, which give the user the same feeling as if typing on a real laptop. Second, it has a backlight and an Apple Pencil holder, which make it very efficient. Lastly, it has a row of shortcut keys which include brightness, volume and media playback.
