Speculations of a rift between married couple Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have been going around the media for some time now. This was allegedly caused by the possibility of actress and Ian's ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev coming back to CW for "The Vampire Diaries" series finale.

During the San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that "The Vampire Diaries" is already coming to an end on its eighth season and that fans will finally bid goodbye to the Salvatore brothers. In line with this, the fans have been wanting for Nina Dobrev to come back and put a definitive end to her character's storyline, Elena Gilbert.

Actor Ian Somerhalder, who previously dated Nina for three years before calling it quits, recently expressed his negative thoughts on Nina coming back for the finale. According to a previous post made by iTech Post, Ian said that it was no longer necessary for the actress to be coming back to the show, even for a cameo appearance.

This has then started the rumors once more that Ian and wife Nikki Reed have their marriage on the rocks, allegedly caused by the mere existence of Nina Dobrev. However, according to the International Business Times, there is no truth to this at all.

There have been claims that Nikki has no issues with Nina whatsoever. She is reportedly in good terms with the actress, even when she was still a regular on the show. Nikki and Ian are now reportedly very happy and in love despite the unending allegations of the couple getting closer to a divorce. After all, Ian has always shown to the public how much he loves his wife.

As it can be recalled, Ian and Nikki previously got married in April last year, just a few months into dating. Ever since then, many rumors of the couple breaking up have already been circling around, putting actress Nina Dobrev on the spotlight of the rift. They were also allegedly the reason why Nina exited the show, since she was uncomfortable shooting love scenes with her ex-boyfriend, with his wife just a few feet away.
