A Tribute To Italy: Top Italian Video Games

We have all seen in the news the earthquake that has brought tragedy in Italy. I feel that I need to make a tribute for the country in my own little way by publishing an article about the awesome games it has conceived. I combed thru the internet and found no compilation of games coming from Italy except from the Wikipedia database that offered the category 'videogames developed in Italy'. They are ordered alphabetically.

Notable Italian conceived videogames I have played

2048 - a mobile game developed by web developer Gabrielle Cirulli. It was originally done in CSS and JS over the weekend. The game had 15 minutes of fame as people were crazed by the simple sliding puzzle game making it a viral hit. I was engrossed with the game despite its simplicity, even addicted playing to it while working. The game's simple concept is to accumulate your blocks up to 2048. Blocks with similar numbers join together to form its sum. It is a bit complicated to explain in words but if you download them from the Play store or App store, you'll get the idea. The game is still online by the way, and it's for free.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - this game is the best Assassin's Creed game I have played. I followed thru the series and this one, though not the latest, is my best pick. It featured a new 'pirate concept' where you can travel around the world in the Jackdaw, a pirate ship. While you're sailing, you still can loot the ocean, from lost treasure chests to capturing whales. Exciting game, you should try it. I gave it 9/10 for rating.

Assassin's Creed Rogue - a sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, this follows the timeline and adapts the 'pirate concept' of Black Flag. The game was released to previous gen consoles, PS3 and Xbox 360, which made its console graphics inferior to it's prequel. I gave it 8/10 because the gameplay and story were great.

There are lots of games developed in Italy, Wikipedia has gathered a plethora of information and conveniently listed them in here.

Our thoughts go out to those affected by the earthquake that happened in Italy yesterday.
