Acer Swift 7 Dubbed The Thinnest Laptop On The Market: In-Depth Review

Acer has recently made a big announcement in the IFA 2016 event - the launch of what they claim to be the "thinnest laptop" on the market today. The newest addition to Acer's line of laptops promises innovation and style combined in one device

Acer Swift 7: The Thinnest Laptop Around

The shiny Swift 7 laptop has recently topped the bid of being the thinnest laptop available today, overtaking Apple's MacBook and HP's Spectre 13.

Acer's newest pride measures about 9.98mm at the rear end, the first to be under the 1cm mark. This ultraportable laptop weighs 1.1kg making it light and easy to pick up with one hand.

Considering its thinness, the device was still able to incorporate two USB-C 3.1 port and a headphone jack.

Hardware Specs

Acer Swift 7 display is not a big selling point with its 1080p 13.3-inch Full HD IPS panel. On the brighter side, it was said to have an excellent horizontal and vertical viewing angles with impressive color saturation. It also features a Corning's Gorilla Glass making it durable and resistant to drops, knocks and scratches.

The said device has a solid, chiclet-spaced keyboard matched with a roomy trackpad making it compatible with Windows 10's gesture commands.

The outer looks of this new laptop is quite classy with an aluminium unibody chassis. It has a combination of black and gold colors on the exterior and interior respectively.

Software Specs

On the inside, Acer Swift 7 also offers decent specifications. It has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage alongside Intel Kaby Lake chip making the whole system fanless. The 7th generation Core i-series processor inside this device will give users enough internal juice to play full HD games without adding any graphics chip.

Acer Swift 7 laptop will be coming to US and Europe on October. Expected price will start at at $999 or €1,299 (around £1,100).
