Just recently, there has been a promotional photo released for the upcoming third season of "Wayward Pines," and its containment got the fans of the series more excited about the upcoming season. This photo has led to the speculations that the Abbies will be living peacefully with the humans.

It can be recalled that during the second season finale, a lady Abby was seen carrying a newborn of her kind in her arms, one that has the qualities so alike with that of a human. According to Movie News Guide, this event has led to the speculations that these Abbies may be human, or could be something else entirely.

Season 3 To Feature Evolution Of Abbies Through One Thousand Year Time Jump

There have also been reports that there will be new characters to be introduced on the third season, especially with the speculations that there may be a time jump to a thousand years, as reported by Parent Herald. The third season will see a new breed to arise among the Abbies.

The executive producer of the series, Blake Crouch has already explained that they will be discussing evolution in a more different manner, with them pushing forward. Thus, it could explain the kind of race that the Abbies will be since they have evolved into a kind that is similar to a human being, but not one entirely.

Crouch has opened up his interest to broaden the storyline of the series when given the opportunity, and explain further the entire being of human existence. They have already discussed that they want to explore the entirety of human behaviour when they are already at the edge of extinction.
