The controversial Fox's show "Lucifer" is back despite a petition from a TV watchdog group to have the show canceled. A new teaser was recently released titled "Even Lucifer Prays" which shows him praying to God.
When season 1 ended, Lucifer woke up in hell and saw that the gates of Hell were opened and that someone has recently escaped. Later on in the finale, Lucifer told Amenadiel that he made a bargain with their father to work for him in exchange for his protection of Chloe.
He told him that his first task from his father was to capture the person who broke Hell's gate to escape: their mother.

Sources say that Lucifer will be drawn to a new character named Ella Lopez who will be played by Aimee Garcia. Ella is a forensic scientist who has contradicting personalities which Lucifer will find intriguing.
Another addition to the cast is Battlestar Galactica's Tricia Helfer who will play as Lucifer's mom who was imprisoned for thousands of years in Hell by no other than her ex-husband, God. She noted in an interview, "very quickly once you meet her, you realize what she's about and who she is. So we're not going to leave people guessing. There's been enough of that with the concern that she's escaped from Hell."
Will Lucifer be good this season? And what will happen to the wingless Maze now? Season 2 might give the characters a chance to reexamine who they really are.

"Lucifer" season 2 will kick off on Sept. 19 at 9pm ET on Fox.
