Android One Devices Get Android 7.0 Nougat Update

Android Nougat is starting to roll out to other Android devices. One of the first devices that would get Android Nougat would be Android One devices. A number of those Android One devices should be able to get the newest Android OS soon.

First to get Android Nougat are some of the Google Nexus phones. The Nexus 6P was able to get the new Android OS, according to Phone Arena. After the Nexus smartphones get Android Nougat, next in line would be the Android One smartphones and devices.

It is not yet certain how many or which models of the Android One smartphones would get Android Nougat, but one such model that will likely get it is the Cherry Mobile G1. Other Android One models should be announced soon as well.

GSM Arena has said that Android One devices received Android Marshmallow last year the day after Nexus phones were updated with it. It is not yet certain though if this might be true this year, though what seems to be certain is that Android One devices would be the next to get Android 7.0.

Android One smartphones are those made for emerging markets, and since there are so many of them out in the market that it would be quite hard to know when the smartphones would be updated. Updating would require much storage space, though, as the update would be 750 MB and would also need Wi-Fi on so as not to lose connection while updating.

It is always recommended to backup all data and files before updating to Android Nougat so as to minimize data loss. It can happen that there might be issues while updating, and data have been known to get lost at times. Having data backed up would ensure that users can roll back to an earlier state without fear of losing data.
