The reports of having a third installment for one of the famous Disney movies "Princess Diaries" have been talked about for months now. However, with the director Gary Marshall's death and lead star Anne Hathaway's possible involvement with the DC universe, the movie could be put on the edge of happening.
"Princess Diaries" Third Installment To Happen Even After Director Gary Marhsall's Death?
Over the past year, the stars of the two instalments of "Princess Diaries" have been very open and excited about doing a third one. As a matter of fact, Gary Marshall, who directed the two previous "Princess Diaries" movies has been very open about doing the film and even talking to actresses Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews about it.
However, due to Marshall's recent and sudden death last August, it looks like the "Princess Diaries" third installment had to be put on hold at the absence of a director. According to actor Hector Elizondo, the stars of the movies have been open about being on board once the movie is made official already for its return. He also expressed that he would want a woman director to do the film if and when it is finally given the light.
Anne Hathaway To Reprise Role As Catwoman In DC Universe; What Will Happen To Princess Mia Thermopolis?
Prior to Marshall's death, actress Anne Hathaway has been very open and excited about reprising her role as Princess Mia on a possible third installment of "Princess Diaries." However, there have been reports that the actress will be joining the DC Universe and reprise her role as Catwoman in an upcoming film. She played the role during the "The Dark Knight Rises" with actor Christian Bale and is excited to do the role again.
If it so happens that the production of a movie from DC Universe wherein Hathaway will play the role of Catwoman and the third installment of "Princess Diaries" will happen at the same time, the actress will have to choose between the two.
Since there hasn't been any official word yet on "Princess Diaries 3" finally happening, it is highly likely that the actress will reprise her role as Catwoman.
