Microsoft To Revamp Surface Pro 4 & Surface Book At An October Event, Surface Pro 5 Appearance Uncertain

While everyone is talking about the Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Book 2, it looks like all fans are getting this year is a revamp of last year's models. Microsoft is expected to hold an event this late October to launch a new device, namely the Surface All-In-One PC nicknamed "Cardinal."

Surface Pro 5 And Surface Book 2 From Microsoft

According to a post from TheVerge, Microsoft gave fans a hint two months ago that the company is planning to introduce a new Surface device this year and three more in 2017. Since during that time the All-In-One Surface PC had not been on anyone's radar, everyone expected a Surface Pro 5 or a Surface Book 2 to release.

Surface Pro 4 And Surface Book Update

However, as of recent reports, it looks like Surface fans will have to wait a little longer for those two devices. Microsoft seems to have decided to refresh the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 instead. A source speculates that Microsoft could use its October announcement event to release better processors for the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book.

Microsoft's October 2016 Event

While it's hard to tell what else the company is planning to reveal on the said event - granted that the event is actually taking place - there are quite a few things that come to mind. Most rumors about the new generation of Surface devices have already given up hope for a 2016 release.

However, it won't exactly be impossible that the company would at least mention them. With all the rumors that are currently circulating about the release of new Surface devices, it's undeniable how excited fans are for new Microsoft products.

It would be a very big help if Microsoft can confirm once and for all if the Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Book 2 are coming sometime soon. The company can also use the event to clarify some never-dying rumors like the cancellation of the Lumia Windows Phone series and the existence of a Surface Phone. While these expectations may make sense, Microsoft has not left any official statements just yet. Luckily October is just around the corner, so the waiting game is tolerable for fans.
