Silent Hill PS3/Broken Covenant: The Lost Pitch Gameplay Video Leaked

It was a dream come true when fans who both love Norman Reedus and the Silent Hill franchise when they were given a chance to unite the two after announcing the release of "Silent Hills" through P.T., short for, "Playable Teaser." However, in 2015, Guillermo Del Toro announced that development on Silent Hills has officially halted during the San Francisco Film Festival. This is due to a fallout from Konami by Kojima, who was the creator, writer, and director of a handful of great games namely, the Metal Gear franchise.

Among the many games that never got released, Silent Hills was considered one of the most regrettable. Hype and expectations were brought high - all thanks to the playable trailer they released. However, back in 2006, there was another Silent Hill pitch that got turned down for yet unknown reasons.

Broken Covenant

First known as Silent Hill PS3, "Broken Covenant" was a pitch for a PS3 exclusive Silent Hill title which started development in 2003. The game development company Climax Los Angeles, who also brought Silent Hill Origins to PSP, pitched the game to Konami but it was unfortunately turned down. Climax Los Angeles then tweaked a few aspects of it then pitched it again as Broken Covenant, but to no avail.

Gameplay

The gameplay clip is nearly nine minutes long and looks unpolished. According to GamesRadar, this is called a "vertical slice", or an unfinished demo that's meant to sell the game from developer to publishers, designed simply to give investors a feel of the potential the product holds. It's meant to get the basics and points across - creepy maze levels, mind-bending puzzles, enemy concepts, and combat system.
