In a recent report, she finally opened up about her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder who happens to be her on-screen partner on "The Vampire Diaries" prior her exit. "We love each other's company," says the actress about Somerhalder.
All the rumors state that the former couple are bitter towards each other, even allegedly ruining the marriage of Ian Somerhalder to wife, Nikki Reed. However, this has proven untrue by both parties, with Nina Dobrev saying that she and Ian are good friends.
Dobrev insisted that there is no conflict between her and Somerhalder, even with the latter's wife as well. She says that she is even happy for the actor, especially when she heard about the wedding. "I thought it was beautiful," claimed Dobrev about the wedding of Ian and Nikki.

Based on an IMDB description on the profile of Nina Dobrev, she is returning on the 16th episode of season eight of "The Vampire Diaries." Needless to say, the fans have already been anticipating for her return, either as Elena Gilbert or Katherine Pierce.
Is Dobrev Coming Back As Katherine Pierce Rather Than As Elena Gilbert?
There are reports claiming that Nikki Reed is more comfortable with Nina Dobrev coming back as Katherine Pierce, as to not have a scene with Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) if she comes back as Elena Gilbert.
Although the fans prefer for Nina to come back as Elena Gilbert, especially to the Delena (Damon-Elena) fans, it doesn't seem to matter as long as Dobrev is set to return on "The Vampire Diaries" season eight.
