After last season's funeral for Phil's mother, the three families went their separate ways to go on a summer vacation. "Modern Family" season 8 premiere will kick off on Father's Day for a reunion of the Pritchetts, Dunphys, and Tuckers.

The season will once again follow the story of the three families continuing with their normal lives, struggling with their day to day family problems in a funny and charming way. So what is in store for these families?

Now that Claire is the company president, Jay might find it hard to come to terms that retirement is not what he was expecting. It is rumored that the two will have a power struggle during the season and fight for who gets to be the big boss. While her husband Phil, well, he will still be pursuing his weird hobbies. It is rumored though that Martin Short will join "Modern Family" season 8 and will work with Phil in promoting his items.

On the other hand, Gloria's hot sauce business is seeing some success. She seems to be on her way to becoming a very good business woman but again, with Jay and his power struggles. Will she eventually get her business to take off while still being a full-time mom to Joe and Manny?
Sisters Alex and Haley were both struggling in school last season. Since Haley got kicked out, she is also thinking of taking her fashion blog to a whole new level. While Alex is rumored to be paired up with one of the cool guys in Caltech.
As for Cam and Mitchell, they decided to put adopting another baby on hold, but it seems like the couple has taken an interest in having one of the football players in Cam's team live in their house.
ABC released a trailer for season 8 and it shows a wedding, funeral, a scandal. Fans are more than excited to see the premiere of "Modern Family" Season 8. Luckily, it is only going to be a little while.
The show will air on Sept. 21 at 9PM on ABC.
