5 Reasons Why You Should Update To iOS 10

If you are infected with the iPhone 7 hype,  what I have to say will be important to you: There is absolutely a way you can enjoy a new iPhone without buying one- that, my friend, is by upgrading to iOS 10.

Here are five reasons that will make you want to push that button today:

1. A Totally Fresh Interface

iOS greets you with a new home screen and new tricks to boot. When you swipe left, you will have automatic access to the camera. Swipe right and you get easier access to your widgets.  When you want to view a notification, you can raise your iPhone and trigger the screen to light up.

iOS has also already eliminated swiping to unlock your phone. Users will now have to just put their finger on the Home button in order to unlock.

The new software expands notifications allowing you to access apps without switching them. For instance, when you swipe them down, you can perform quick actions before closing them again.

Additionally, the control center already has a dual-pane look. It moves the music controls one swipe away - this gives you an easier use of the panel.

The total interface of the software has been changed. White stands out while the other elements of the interface are less transparent. Some fonts have also been swapped around. iPhone has never had a better disposition.

2. iMessage Is Taken To Another Level

The new software will totally change the way you use iMessage. The iOS10 version allows you to send a message with myriad of effects to choose from. For instance, you can send a message and shoot fireworks or throw confetti all over the screen.

You can also send doodles to people, use Digital Touch feature to send small animation, and send stickers.

3. Photos Are Now Robots

The Memories tab will show albums generated from various places where the photos have been taken and from the activities you have done.

The app now also tracks faces of people in pictures and creates separate albums and moments per person

All of these done locally without the need to send to Apple servers.

4. Security Features

iOS protects your phone from vulnerabilities like Stagefright. Most of these security features have already been included between version 9.0 and 10.0.

5. Other Important Updates

Obviously, 5 reasons are not enough. Here are a number of other bonus updates worthy of mentioning:

a. Siri Upgrade- Siri can now plug into other apps. Example, you can request for a ride through Uber using Siri.

b. Apple Music Upgraded- Apple music has a revamped interface.

c. Universal Clipboard- Lets you copy and paste text messages from your iPhone, iPad and Mac

d. QuickType Enhancements- Lets you swap out words for emoji. It also enables you to avoid autocorrection when using multiple languages.

e. Maps Got Redesigned- Maps has new features like traffic and third-party app integration.

f. Home app- Home app added to Home screen enabling you to control HomeKit devices from one source

iPhone users are notified to upgrade automatically. However, if you have not received any, you can manually upgrade by going to Settings > General >  Software Update.

The size of the iOS upgrade differs depending on the model of your device. iOS 10 is between 600MB and 1.2GB.

iOS10 is compatible with iPhone 5 and up, iPad 4th generation and up, iPad mini 2 and up, iPad Pro range and 6th Generation iPod touch and up.
