'Ascend' News: An Indie Version Of Titanfall – Would You Buy It On Steam?

Ascend is an upcoming Indie game version of Titanfall. The developer is asking gamers if they are willing to buy it on Steam.

Ascend - What Is Known So Far

Ascend is sci-fi first person shooter (FPS) game inspired by the Titanfall game. The advance trailer shows the game in its pre-alpha stage and under development by ThndrStrm. Unlike Titanfall, there are no huge gigantic robots here. There is not much environment in the game. The player in the game is shown running and scaling the walls using the tools including a grappling hook just like in Titanfall. Later in the video, a mechanized exo-suit drops from above ready for the player's use.

Ascend According to ThndrStrm

ThndrStrm described Ascend as a "FPS multiplayer game set in a futuristic cyberpunk environment. The storyline depicts the player as a mercenary hired by big moneyed corporations to fight their wars. According to the developer, player moves through the game by running, jumping and climbing ledges. Several gadgets such as grappling hooks and kinetic implants are made available for the players.

Players can customize their avatar's suit such as head, torso and legs. The customized items can be bought although the developer has not yet released details on how to do it. Player can also equip their suits with Neural Kinetic implants. This will enable player to use Blink and enhance their mobility.

Players can also call for exo-suits that can help provide much need reinforcement and firepower. There are three kind of chassis for the exo-suit namely, Assault, Defense and Speed.

Ascend Projected Release Date

The upcoming Ascend game has no official release date yet according to Indiedb. The game developer however is projecting a 2018 release timetable according to Kotaku. Ascend will be available in Windows PC platform. ThndrStrm is using the Unity engine in creating this Titanfall inspired game.
