Is Pokemon GO dead? It might be too harsh to say, but it seems to be -- or perhaps for a moment. The servers of the hit augmented reality game from Niantic suffered a sudden downtime, causing some of the features not to load accordingly. And to validate it all, the community reported to social media sites the outage.

According to VentureBeat, the Pokemon GO downtime affected the likes of PokeStops and Gyms. The aforesaid features are reportedly not working the way they should be. Fortunately though, there are some functionalities that remain stable such as the Buddy System. Apart from the latter, hatching of eggs is also working properly.

Reports suggest that Pokemon GO players are having a hard time using features of the world map. And this despite the fact that the game is loading up on both iOS and Android. As of this writing, pocket monsters along with PokeStops and gyms are nowhere to be found.

At first, there are Pokemon GO players who believe that the outage only mattered to a particular region or so. However, fans across social media sites (Twitter to be in particular) report that the downtime are also experienced in North America and Europe, among others.

While there are Pokemon GO players who are upset about it, there are some who resorted to giving it a laugh. A fan said that the "end of the world is near," as Niantic's title is down. On the other hand, some trainers believe that it could be due to an upcoming update or something.

As of this writing, Niantic hasn't let out any official word pertaining to the supposed Pokemon GO outage. We'll update you as soon as we receive an announcement.
