Laffy Taffy Rapper Carlos "Shawty Lo" Walker, 40, Dies In A Car Crash, Details Inside

ATL rapper and member of rap group D4L dies in a fiery car crash last Wednesday morning.

Fulton County Police Cpl. Maureen Smith said Shawty Lo's car burst into flames and stuck couple of trees before he was thrown out of the car; which led to his untimely death. The car crash took place on a freeway near southwest Atlanta at Cascade Road.

Smith also added that there were two female passengers in the car. Both passengers were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and are being monitored for some injuries. No other casualties or vehicles are involved in the fiery car crash.

Shawty Lo and his group topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2005 with their single "Laffy Taffy". He was also named "MySpace Music Rookie of the Year" at BET Hip-Hop awards in 2008.

Johnnie Cabbell, Shawty Lo's manager, confirmed his death through his Twitter page. "My brother has passed away; he is no longer here but his spirit, his kind heart, and his music will live on," Cabbell said. "Long live Shawty Lo King of Bankhead."

"I am so so so devastated that words cannot describe how I feel right now." Cabbel said.  "Shawty Lo was not just my artist he was my Brother He was My Friend. I have been Lo MGR for over 10 [years]. He was Loyal and he had my back when no one else did. I could count on him when I had no one else to turn to. We been thru so much together. If you knew Lo, then you know he was genuine. He was Real." Cabbell wrote on his instagram.

Shawty Lo tried to go solo when his band D4L or "Down for Life" disbanded last 2006. "Dey Know" is one of his hit singles. Shawty Lo joined G Unit, 50 Cent's label name but wasn't able to produce any album.
