Ronda Rousey To Come Out Of Retirement; Will Fight Nunez At UFC 207?

After an extensive layoff following her loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193, female wrecking machine Ronda Rousey might make her comeback at UFC 207.

Fight fans have long wondered when the most popular UFC fighter will stage her comeback fight, and after numerous rumors regarding the date, Fox Sports may have just revealed the exact date and opponent of Rousey.

According to the report, Rousey's team is currently in negotiations to fight once again in UFC 207 in Las Vegas on December 30. And it is beginning to look like that the former champion will be cutting in line as she will be slated to fight current women's bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunez.

Amanda Nunez, who submitted former champion Miesha Tate, to grab the women's bantamweight strap looks to snap a current trend of bantamweight champions who dropped their titles in their first defense. Fans might remember Holly, who defeated Ronda drop the belt immediately to Tate who then did the same when she fought Nunez.

If Nunez plans to make a big statement to her reign as champion, none is bigger than a fight with Ronda "Rowdy" Rousey.

While the deal is not yet set in stone, and everyone knows that in the fight game that contracts have to be signed before people can really rejoice, this is actually the first real signs of life that Ronda Rousey is at least serious in continuing her legendary career.

Adding fuel to the fire is UFC head honcho Dana White, who had this little telling quip to Globo about Rousey's return which Fox Sports translated:

"Yes, there's a big chance that Ronda Rousey will fight Amanda Nunes and I'm very confident that Ronda will probably fight before the end of the year"

The only question now is, will three months be enough time to promote a fight of this magnitude?

One thing for sure, Ronda Rousey vs. Amanda Nunez on UFC 207 is definitely a gift on most fight fan's Christmas list.
