Universal Pictures remains silent for any updates about "Pitch Perfect" 3 and its release dates. Rumor has it that major changes will be done on the third installment and Anna Kendrick might be one of it.

According to reports, Anna Kendrick, who starred the last 2 installments of the movie, might be replaced by "High School Musical's" Vanessa Hudgens, "Gossip Girl's" Leighton Meester or "Glee's" Lea Michele. And if not any of the three, the lead role could just be taken by Hailee Steinfeld or Rebel Wilson. But these are all speculations and Universal Pictures has yet to give an official statement.

The three mentioned possible replacements for Kendrick is also known for their beautiful singing voice. It can be remembered that Meester and Michele released an album in 2014 and Hudgens in 2006 and 2008. However, fans have expressed their disappointment should Anna Kendrick not return in the 3rd movie as they cannot imagine watching the movie without her in it.

One reason why Kendrick may not be in "Pitch Perfect" 3 is because of her alleged rift with co-worker. According to speculations, Kendrick and Wilson were in a feud with the movie's film producer, director, and co-star Elizabeth Banks. But if this rumor is true, the third movie is set to have a new director so this will no longer be an issue for Kendrick's return.

In a recent interview with the director, Banks said she decided not to direct the third installment of the musical comedy movie is because she needs to spend more time with her family. Trish Sie will be the director of the 3rd movie.

There is no confirmation yet when the third installment will be released on the big screen but it is likely that it will be sometime in 2017.
