'Cardcaptor Sakura' Is Back For Manga And Anime Sequel? Spoilers And New Details Emerge

In celebration of the original "Cardcaptor Sakura" manga's 20th anniversary, CLAMP has been busy with various promotions for its iconic magic girl series. A new manga sequel following the "Clear Card" arc debuted in the July issue of Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine. The development of a new anime has also been confirmed in the same issue. After the initial announcement of these projects for the "Cardcaptor" franchise, there's bound to be more news in the upcoming months.

"Cardcaptor Sakura" New Manga and Anime

After making a comeback after its long absence from mainstream circulation, CLAMP's magical girl series "Cardcaptor Sakura" might end up with a big anime and manga comeback. Based on the latest teasers, more details on the series will be made available to fans on Oct. 3, the scheduled release of "Nakayoshi" shoujo manga's November issue. These reports also revealed that the announcement in the next issue is a preview of the big reveal in the December issue of the magazine which will hit bookstores on Nov. 3.

The new manga serialization "Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card" follows Sakura and her friends who are now entering junior high. The "Clow Card" act ended with Syaoran leaving Tomoeda for Hongkong. This time around, he announces to an emotional Sakura that he is back for good. The bliss from the reunion doesn't last long as Sakura gets haunted by bizarre dreams about the cards and when she checks the deck, every last one turned transparent.

Upcoming "Cardcaptor Sakura" Developments

After the success of the "Clear Card" arc's manga release in July, there are rumors that the big announcement would be about the anime. While the creators keep mum on details, it is possible that the new series will follow the same plot as the manga sequel.
