Battlezone – Classic Game Reborn As A PlayStation Virtual Reality Game

Battlezone is a 80s classic arcade game that is now being rebooted as a PlayStation Virtual Reality game. The iconic upcoming game is slated for release this October.

Battlezone - The 80s Arcade Game

Battlezone is a 80s arcade tank game that gave players the first-person perspective which was unheard of at that time. Tanks can be viewed in either red or green colored wireframe vectored images.

Coincidentally, players were also using a viewfinder similar to the ones use in VR to play the game. Soon enough, many subsequent games, including the popular ones today followed the first person style. Battlezone however, was subsequently forgotten until now.

Battlezone - The PlayStation Virtual Reality (PSVR) Game

Rebellion Development is the developer responsible for resurrecting the old Battlezone as a new PSVR game. Several gaming reporters were given the opportunity to tests new Battlezone. The old vector graphics have been replaced by polygon shapes.

Player will face waves of AI controlled enemy forces. There is no player versus player mode for the game yet. Battlezone however, has a cooperative mode of up to four players.

To be clear, the game environment is merely a sleeked up version of the original Battlezone. But the game is still engaging enough. Players in Battlezone would only have a 280 degree view of the game's terrain. Players who want to see what's up on their rear can easily turn their tank around.

Each wave of enemies may require the use of various armaments especially the flying ones. Additional weapons and advanced ones can be acquired via the game's currency and upgrades. Some packages also offer battle maps. Predictably the enemies get tougher with each succeeding waves.

Battlezone Release Date
