ASUS to Release Android Jelly Bean 4.1 for Transformer Tablets

Soon after HTC's announcement of launching Jelly Bean on its smartphones on Thursday, ASUS also confirmed that Android 4.1 is coming to many of its tablets running Android.

As of now, Transformer Pad, Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity tablets are scheduled to receive the Jelly Bean update "in the coming months." But, this may only be the beginning as ASUS has also noted that the company is "still investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices, but we are not in a position to confirm whether any other products will be eligible for an update at the moment."

The Taiwanese company has announced that Eee Pad Transformer and the Eee Pad Slider would not be getting Jelly Bean update.

ASUS unveiled its 700 series in January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The new Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 sports 1920×1200 HD resolution, Tegra 3 processor and it clocks at 1.6 GHz.

Meanwhile, Google unleashed Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update at the company's annual developer's conference in June. The new OS, according to Google, can perform significantly faster and smoother than its predecessor. The "Project Butter" of JB provides silky smooth graphics and seamless response rate along with richer format of notification, a sleek Voice Type feature, resizable widgets, Voice Search option, Android Beam (using NFC technology, users can share data), Google Now (right information at right time), improved camera, and many more.
