The Straw Hat Pirates inks yet another project.

Eiichiro Oda's greatest creation is once again making the headlines. "One Piece" is one of those series that comes once in a lifetime. The animation is great but the storytelling is even greater. It was first illustrated and published in the year 1997 and up to this day, the Japanese manga series sensation is still on top of his game - a remarkable feat that only few can possibly do.

You know how good a TV series or show is if they make it as a movie. A new journey awaits Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates Crew as they embarked on a new film entitled "One Piece Film: Gold". This would be the 1st film of One Piece since 2012 and their 13th film in franchise history.

The numbers are staggering when the report came out that they've grossed more than $47.8 million at the box office, making it the biggest and most successful ‘One Piece' movie ever. The 6th highest grossing film of the year. Funimation licensed the film but with limited screenings scheduled only.

Funimation Films will distribute the movie in both the U.S. and Canada as a limited theatrical event from January 10 - 17, 2017. Ticket sales will be announced in the coming weeks.
