Sneak Peek At The 'Doctor Who' Christmas Special Released; Doctor To Team Up With A Comic Book Superhero

"Doctor Who" is back and this time he is teaming up with a mysterious comic book superhero named "Grant" and an investigative journalist. The Christmas special titled "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" gave its fans a sneak peek of the 60-minute episode coming on Christmas day.

"Doctor Who" will be played by veteran Scottish actor Peter Capaldi with Doctor Mysterio which will be played by Justin Chatwin. Charity Wakefield will play as the investigative journalist and together, the three of them will save New York from the terrifying alien threat.

The teaser trailer shows shots from the production showing the cast having so much fun at the same time viewers also get hilarious snippets of the upcoming episode. Showrunner Steven Moffat shares his inspiration for the episode saying "My favorite superhero is Clark Kent. Not Superman, Clark Kent." He reveals his love for superheroes will be incorporated in this Christmas' "Doctor Who".

Chatwin shares his experience while filming the episode and says "Working with the amazing people at 'Doctor Who' has been one of the most fun and rewarding projects I've ever had the pleasure of being involved with."

The episode will also include Matt Lucas from "Little Britain" and Aleksander Jovanovic, Adetomiwa Edun, and Logan Hoffman. It will be written by Steven Moffat, produced by Peter Bennett, executive produced by Brian Minchin and directed by Ed Bazalgette.

Doctor Who is BBC's science fiction TV program since 1963 to 1989 and revived for five years in 2005. It centers on the Doctor's adventure, who is a humanoid alien that can travel through space and time. He goes around the universe in a spaceship called Tardis that looks like a British police box, which was commonly seen in Britain back in 1963. With his team, he helps the human civilization from any alien force.
