War Of The Planet Of The Apes Video Game To Be Revealed at NY Comic Con

The "War of the Planet of the Apes" film will have an accompanying video game which will be released the same time as the film. The announcement was made during the New York Comic con event.

Andy Serkis, who is also part of the movie, revealed this during a panel interview in the said event. He said that he will also be a part of the game where he will perform its motion capture. When pressed to give much further details about it, however, the actor remained tight-lipped and refused to divulge anything further about it aside from the fact that it will be coming in consoles. Serkis was also quick to add that the characters in the game will be different from the ones in the movie.

"I don't think it's ever been done before. We created it at the Imaginarium, which is my studio. Without giving too much away about it, it's not like a first-person shooter. It feels like an interactive movie. And that's all I can say other than that it will be coming out around the same time as the movie," he said.

Serkis is no stranger to video games having done many already in the past. Some of the games under his name include Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West where he provided the voice work and motion capture of the game. He also provided the voice to some of the characters in Risen and Volume. Aside from the War on the Planet of the Apes, he is also a part of the soon-to-be-released video game called Star Citizen.

In War of the Planet of the Apes, Serkis will appear alongside woody Harrelson, Judy Greer, and Steve Zahn. The film is directed by Matt Reeves, who also directed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Cloverfield. The movie and the video game will premiere on July 14, 2017.
