Toyota and Suzuki Will Team Up For Car Technology Revolution

Toyota and Suzuki is considering a partnership for creating innovative car technology with focus on creating green cars, focusing on safety and information. The two companies decided to collaborate and to start brainstorming ideas that will eventually lead to a joint venture.

Changing Car Technology By Toyota And Suzuki

Toyota, world's largest car manufacturer, will help Suzuki to gain profit while the latter will help the former to create small and cheaper cars that can be offered in India since Suzuki is the leading car manufacturer in the country, according to Auto News.

"Toyota is the industry-leading, and the most reliable company which is actively working on various advanced and future technologies," Suzuki Chairman Osamu Suzuki explained. Technology is fast-changing and that is why it is very necessary to form an alliance with different car makers.

"We need to have the ability to respond to changes in order to survive," Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda said. "In addition to the r&d which each company is working on individually, it is very important now to have partners who share the same goal and passion."

Toyota was one of the first to use alternative fuels in their cars. The automaker is also now on the road to creating self-driving cars that can also communicate with each other, according to a report from Wall Street Journal.

While Suzuki's edge is related to forming small cars, it can definitely benefit from learning the high-tech ways of Toyota in order to produce cars that will help boosts its sales. But, that is not to say that Toyota will have an advantage either.

Toyota And Suzuki's Other Plans

This is not the first time for Toyota to form business alliances. The automaker has previously cooperated with Mazda Motor Corp. and Subaru subsidiary Fuji Heavy Industries. In a report on NY Times, Toyota and Subaru had a deal on designing and producing cars before for releasing Toyota 86 and Subari BRZ.

Meanwhile, Toyota is planning to sell a mini robot named Kirobo next year that will cost $400.
