'24 Legacy' News And Updates: Comic-Con Revelead Corey Hawkins To Continue Kiefer Sutherland's Role; Tony Almeida Retuns To The Show?

The New York Comic-Con begun successfully with an actioned-packed 20-minute preview before the executive producers of "24-Legacy" revealed to them what should be expected from the upcoming release of the show.

According to The Guardian, the producers of "24-Legacy" has mentioned only a few about Almeida's role aside from the fact that is it already well-planned "You're lucky you got that" mentioned one of the show's executive producer Manny Coto. Additionally, "24: Live Another Day" which was played on a DVD version features Carlos Bernard as Almeida who is trying to escape from prison. After then the producers announced Carlos' name then the crowd went wild."So this has been planned for a very long, long time or we're very lucky we did that short," said Coto.

The executive producer of "24:Legacy" , Evan Katz, revealed in the later part of the Comic-con that the show will be in 24 universe, and the storyline will start the way "24: Live Another Day" ended, where the original main character of the show, Jack Bauer, was dragged off to Moscow.

According to reports, the end of the show's season 5 will reveal Almeida's death over a lethal dose of hyoscine-pentothal. His character will return on the sixth season being a villain and plotting to blackmail the president.

"24: Legacy" would be a 12-episode series with Corey Hawkins as Eric Carter and his character's spouse Anna Diop as Nicole. An ex-army ranger is on a mission to pull out Sheik Ibrahim Bin-Khalid, the terrorist leader. However, the mission was jeopardized when the Bin-Khalid's group found out the army ranger's real identity and started killing them off one by one.

"24: Legacy" will premiere on Sunday, February 5 after Super Bowl 51 right before it will move to Monday nights at 8pmET/PT.
