Samsung's Premium Chromebook Pro With Stylus And Touchscreen Is Up For Pre-Order

Over the weekend, a promo page for Samsung's high-end Chromebook Pro came up online for a brief period of time, unveiling photos and specs.

Samsung's Chromebook Pro

When its landing page was public for several hours over the weekend, Samsung leaked its premium Chromebook Pro. The web page was first spotted by the online specialized publication Chrome Unboxed. According to the leaked page, the high-end upcoming Chromebook Pro will come with a 12.3-inch 2400x1600 resolution touchscreen able to rotate 360 degrees. The premium Samsung laptop will feature an all-metal 12.9mm-thick body, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a stylus stored inside the laptop and it will provide 10 hours of battery life.

According to ZDNet, landing pages introducing the upcoming Samsung Chromebook Pro came online for a short period of time from retailers Adorama and B&H. had landing pages up for a short period of time. The landing pages revealed that the high-end laptop will cost $499. The launch of the Chromebook Pro was tipped by the B&H's product page for Oct. 24.

Chromebook Pro's Unique Features

A high-end Chromebook Pro believed to be nicknamed "Kevin" internally by Samsung has been rumored since September. Tech analysts speculate that the upcoming premium Samsung laptop will offer a different take on the Chromebook market, unlike the rivals that typically cater to the budget crowd.

Earlier this year, Google added Android app support to Chrome OS for a select list of Chromebooks. At the moment, support for Samsung's Chromebook Pro isn't confirmed yet. However, the fact that the high-end laptop will feature a touchscreen makes it a highly likely candidate for Android app support.

According to TechTimes, Samsung's Chromebook Pro will be a slim hybrid device contained within a full metal shell. The high-end laptop will measure only 0.55 inches at its thickest point. As highlighted by 9To5Google, the most interesting feature of the upcoming laptop will be the stylus that can pop out of its side. Considering the recent integration of Android apps into Chrome OS, this feature certainly does make sense, but this would be the first Chromebook that comes with a stylus.
