2017 Toyota Prius Prime Lauded For Its Tech, Criticized (Again) For Its Looks

In the world of hybrid vehicles, Toyota can be considered as the leader in using advanced technology with cars. But then again, Toyota's latest car in their series of hybrid cars, the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime, is facing criticism, not because of its state-of-the-art technology, but its looks.

Toyota is launching its new Prius Prime plug-in hybrid. According to Forbes, the new Prius Prime is said to dramatically improve on its predecessor's capabilities and probably ranks as the best plug-in on the market.

Chief Engineer Koji Toyoshima was proud to point out that the plug-in version has a different styling from its hybrid sibling, making it look a little different. But from the critics point of view, it does not improve matters concerning about the car's new design.

While critics may say that the design sticks out like a sore thumb, Toyota was quick to answer that the car's looks is what they believe what Prius is all about - combining the latest in car technology with futuristic designs. Toyota also added that their car's "unique design" has always been long cherished by Prius drivers, and with that in mind, they pushed it further with the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime.

Along the lines of unique design, the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime features the same silhouette as the standard Prius liftback models, but gets a unique look with exclusive front and rear fascia bumpers and lighting systems with its ultra-low profile LED highlights and large acrylic grille that complements the presence of the air intake and evoke a more advanced EV image.

Casting aside the design of the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime, the car itself also represents the pinnacle of efficiency and technology of hybrid cars, as stated by Top Examiner

Lastly, though the design of the new Prius Prime could be a deciding factor, it is loaded with active safety features, an array of comfort, convenience amenities, packed with advanced technology, and an ultra-efficient powertrain that will make drivers want to own this vehicle.
