Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Update: 2-in-1 FPS Game Bundle Confirmed By Microsoft; Timed Free-To-Play, End Date Revealed

Ready your Xbox One hard drive as the most handsome game of them all is available for free! Yes, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is free-to-play for the Xbox One starting the weekend. Before you go to your console though, you might want to read some details below.

According to Eurogamer, Microsoft has just confirmed that Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will be free to download for the Xbox One. The collection of games is currently blocked until the weekend so hold your horses. Details can be read below.

Who can download the game for free?

Well, to sum it up, everyone who has an Xbox One. Usually free games are only for those with Gold subscription but today, Microsoft is generous enough to let those unsubscribed Xbox One owners to join in the fun. The only difference is that Gold members get to access its multi-player features but hey, everyone gets to have fun right? Anyway this is a timed free-to-play promo so for those who didn't have the chance to go through the story mode should; it's a lot of titles for such a small amount of time.

What's the collection about?

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is an awesome accumulation of FPS games by Gearbox Software, published by 2K. The bundle consists of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 for the PS4 and Xbox One. Both games feature remastered graphics, and are also capable of running at 1080p at 60 fps while playing solo or duo.

Is there any catch to this promotion?

As said earlier, this is a timed free-to-play confirmed by Microsoft. Not the monthly free stuff they'd give away perpetually for active Gold subscribers. The confirmed end date will be Oct. 30 so might as well stock up some food and drinks at home because you will be living like a hermit over the weekend trying to finish the 2 awesome titles or have a multiplayer session with your Borderlands friends. Another purpose of this promotion is obviously teasing the gamers to play and ultimately buying it because it only lasts over the weekend.
