BBC’s “The Fall” made an explosive finale of its third installment when Paul Spector got killed. His unexpected death caused dismay and shock to the fans, hence, cancellation rumors of the show are rife.

A previous report noted the thoughts of series creator and writer Allan Cubitt about “The Fall” season 3 that will surely set high hopes for the soap’s followers.

"Obviously I don't want to give anything away about how the third series will end but I can say that I am looking forward to working with both Gillian and Jamie again in the near future."

The statement of the showrunner hinted that major characters DSI Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) and Jamie Dornan as serial killer Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan) are set for a new chapter of the crime drama.

"It's not the end of The Fall necessarily," Cubitt added.

Although season 4 is yet to be confirmed for a renewal, a speculation said that it might take years before its release on tv screens. One reason is Anderson’s hectic schedule as the talented actress is believed to be busy in juggling her time in between filming "The X-Files, "American Gods" and other theater works.

With the major cliffhanger left in the third season, how will “The Fall” continue without the merciless character of Spector? Will the show earn an impressive viewership in the absence of Dornan?

Should Dornan’s character not possible for a reappearance in the upcoming season, a spin-off series is likely to happen which will be starred by Anderson as she investigates new crimes on her list.

Hopefully, a fourth season will get its green light soon. After all, “The Fall” did an amazing job of thrilling the audience with its exciting storyline and an outstanding cast.
