Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Preview: Ghost Rider Will Be Part Of The Team For Phil Coulson

The new director of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to be having tautness this new season with former director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). A new season trailer spawn has Jeffrey Mace (Jason O'Mara) and his team ward-bound on the Heli carrier to take Robbie Reyes aka Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) into detention, but this leads to a dialogue with Coulson about "Star Wars" characters.

In the clip, Mace to all appearances compares Coulson to Han Solo, the naughty bad boy in the movies, who was just self-seeking and always put himself before anyone else - but still, people loved him. Coulson, however, say that he exposes more with Admiral Ackbar, the Mon Calamari general who build blueprints for military strategies to use by the rebellion.

Ghost Rider Became Top Priority Target Of S.H.I.E.L.D

Mace then asks Coulson if his convictions S.H.I.E.L.D. as the Empire while his rabble group is the Rebel Alliance. Coulson then amplifies on how he "gave everything for S.H.I.E.L.D.," including his life.

The next episode is entitled "The Good Samaritan" and it will focus on the births of the Ghost Rider. Though a force for good, Ghost Rider's way of dishing out equity has made him one of the top priority targets of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now everyone is on the hunt to bring Robbie Reyes down dead or alive, not to mention that he's also an operative with S.H.I.E.L.D. defector Daisy aka Quake.

Another promo clip has Mace asking if Robbie is an cruel, to which Coulson replies, "He says he made a deal with the devil." Comic fans can recall that this was the origin of Johnny Blaze in the comics. Robbie Reyes' Ghost Rider was possessed by the spirit of a serial killer demon.

With the comics version altered in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's feasible that the show runners have taken more concessions with the origin of some characters.
