Hearthstone's New Expansion Is Called Mean Streets of Gadgetzan; Features Three Major Crime Families

BlizzCon 2016 has been successful with lots of good cheers and good news for gamers. It seemed like Christmas has come very early, even in Hearthstone as Blizzard announced a new expansion for the game.

Blizzard announced during the opening of BlizzCon that the digital card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft will have a new expansion called the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. The new expansion will be the fourth full-sized expansion for the game this year as well as the third Hearthstone add-on. It followed the two add-on adventure sets called Whispers of the Old Gods and one Night in Karazhan.

The inspiration of the theme came from the city of Gadgetzan in the World of Warcraft game. It is a desert outpost which became popular after it became the center of trade. The new Hearthstone expansion will carry cards that will allow players to explore the most innermost parts of Gadgetzan.

The new Hearthstone expansion will also introduce three new crime families who are the head of organized crime in Gadgetzan. The three families - the Jade Lotus, the Kabal faction, and the Grimy Goons - have each their own special weapons and abilities.

The Jade Lotus family is sneaky and shadowy. Their ranks are full of deadly assassins. One of their strengths is the Lotus Assassin card, a character that gets more and more powerful every time it kills an enemy.

The Kabal family rely on spells and potions to overcome their enemies. They are potion makers whose strongest weapon is the minion called Kabal Talonpriest. When used, this card can give any minion three extra health points.

Lastly, the Grimy Goons are hunters and they have a new hunter weapon called the Piranha Launcher. This weapon can summon a 1/1 piranha every time your chosen hero attacks. Aside from these special cards, there will also be tri-class cards. One example is the Kabal Courier, a three-coast card which contains a Battlecry enabling the player to discover a priest, a warlock, or a mage card.

Blizzard will release Hearthstone Mean Streets in Gadgetzan in December.
