There Will Be More Mass Effect Games After Andromeda, BioWare Director Confirms

With all the hype that Mass Effect: Andromeda has been, gamers all over the world just can't seem to get their hands on the upcoming action RPG game from BioWare. The newly released Mass Effect Andromeda trailer just awed everyone with its gorgeous visuals and even very detailed creatures. The anticipation of waiting for its release has led everyone to ask, would Mass Effect: Andromeda be the start of a new trilogy? Or would it be the last game in the Mass Effect series?

Mass Effect: Andromeda - A Start Of A New Trilogy?

We have heard a couple of speculations that Mass Effect: Andromeda could be the last game in the Mass Effect series. And BioWare had also mentioned that the third-person shooter will have a complete story arc of its own so that could mean it won't be part of a new trilogy, right? Thankfully, Creative Director of BioWare, Mac Walters, answered the pressing question that has been plaguing Mass Effect fans.

There, just because Mass Effect: Andromeda is a new game, it doesn't always mean that it will be the beginning of a new trilogy. Still, what's exciting is that he confirmed that they already have plans for more "future adventures" and not just sticking to the usual three-story arc to tell Commander Shepard's legendary exploits.

Mass Effect: Andromeda details

For now, we do have an idea that players will control either of the two characters - Scott or Sara Ryder, in a quest to secure the future of humanity. Mass Effect: Andromeda is said to take place after the cataclysmic events in Mass Effect 3. And yes, this is the first game in the Mass Effect series to feature an open world environment and a brand new galaxy to explore. There will also be new weapons to use which will make combat more exciting as ever. And of course, the Mako will still be there. In fact, Mass Effect Andromeda Collector's Edition comes with a remote control Mako, so make sure you have $199 on hand (or in credit).

"At the end of this, we want it to feel like a story has completed. Yes, for the universe, there's much more you could explore, and we want to tease that, but it feels like its own story. It's like, 'Great. I had my Ryder sibling becoming-a-hero story. What's next? Is it going to be Ryder? Is it going to be something else? Who knows?" Walters said of Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set for release on March 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
