How Battlefield 1 Can Teach Trump A Lesson

The US presidential election has just been concluded and declared Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States. On the other hand, Battlefield 1 has been making waves in the gaming world as well despite initial disappointments expressed by players. Now that Trump and Battlefield 1 have been mentioned, what is the relationship between these two different subjects? A lot, especially that Remembrance Day is also fast approaching. In fact, it can teach the new president about the pains of World War.

Battlefield 1 is a game which used the First World War as its background. World War 1 was one of the costliest wars in history costing the world not only money and resources but generations of people as well. The horrors of war had left the present generation at that time damaged in every possible way. The next generation, on the other hand, was left homeless and fatherless.

All of the horrors of death and killing have been accurately depicted in Battlefield 1. In fact, historian Nathan Smith said in an interview on CNBC that the game reminds the player about the horrors of war and takes him to a time and place where lives and families were destroyed in a massive scale.

In the same manner, Donald Trump and the rest of the politicians around the world also need to be reminded about the horrors of war before they even fire out their hate speech and display their nuclear grandeur. They should be reminded that war is not an option to assert their power. However, this is expected as humanity has a tendency to forget very easily. No one really cares about the war that happened decades ago. For us, it was just a figment of our imagination, a fantasy.

Hopefully, we will be reminded once again. That Trump will also be reminded once again about the pain and horrors of war. Hopefully, the remembrance will not just be confined in Battlefield 1.
