‘General Hospital’ News, Cast Rumors: Laura Wright And Anthony Montgomery Plan To Leave Port Charles For Good?

"General Hospital" fans may have another cause of alarm after news broke that there are two cast members who might be saying their goodbyes to Port Charles soon. Laura Wright is rumored to be taking time off the show and Anthony Montgomery could also make his final bow since he has a standing offer to join a sci-fi series.

"General Hospital" Spoilers

"General Hospital" fans may have noted that the plotline involving Anthony Morgan who plays the role of Dr. Andre Maddox is about to come to an end. For one, Andre and Jordan's involvement is about to come to an end. It is undeniable that there is something going on between Jordan and Curtis, and Andre would not just turn a blind eye when there is irrefutable proof right before his very eyes. There is also another psychiatrist in Angels Memorial and with Morgan Corinthos' death, it would not be too hard to plot Montgomery's departure.

This same death is also the perfect cover for Laura Wright's departure from Port Charles. The actress who plays the role of Morgan's mother, Carly, has every excuse to take some time off screen since her character needs time to recover from her son's death.

"General Hospital" Character Exits

At the moment, rumors surrounding the exit of the two GH cast members are just speculations. Wright is reportedly on vacation and is planning to return to the soap right after.

Meanwhile, Montgomery sparked rumors that he has plans of exiting the show because of his tweet detailing that there is a sci-fi series that is interested in casting him as a regular for the show. He made it clear in another tweet that he will not be leaving "General Hospital." The show wanted him to join them right after he is done with his stint on the daytime soap opera, "whenever that is."

"General Hospital" airs every day on ABC at a 2 p.m. ET time slot.
