Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users should celebrate as the latest Android update is about to roll out to your devices. The S7 and S7 Edge devices may be first in line in getting the Nougat update, but it's pretty much confirmed the S6 and S6 Edge will follow soon after. It's worth noting that beta testing of Nougat is already ongoing for the S7 and S7 Edge phones at least in a number of countries, so it's safe to say that S6 and S6 Edge update will be rolling out any time soon.

Samsung Galaxy S6 With Android Nougat Spotted

Take note that just a number of days ago, a few benchmark sightings have proven that the Android Nougat for the Galaxy S6 is already in development. Nougat-running Samsung Galaxy S6 has been spotted in both GeekBench and GFXBench in the past few days. This could only mean that Samsung did not take the S6 series for granted and that its Nougat update is coming its way.

As expected, Samsung is mum about matters of Nougat ETAs. However, judging by the Nougat update progress the S7 and S7 Edge have been through, the S6 and S6 Edge could be getting its Nougat update in no more than two months. As per GSM Arena, the S6 got its Marshmallow update last February. However, it probably wouldn't take as much time for Nougat to roll out to the S6 and S6 Edge.

Needless to say, S6 and S6 Edge owners need not worry about not getting the Nougat update. As of now, it's already certain that the update is rolling out to your devices. The benchmark sightings say so and besides, these devices are just a little over one year old so getting the new Android update has already been expected. Just keep your fingers crossed that Samsung doesn't encounter a problem in testing Nougat in the S6 and S6 Edge so that your new update can get to you in no time.
