Mass Effect: Andromeda: Biggest Game So Far, Says Dev, Big Side Quests Too

The highly anticipated game from BioWare, Mass Effect, has been declared the largest game so far, developers say. It seems games nowadays are really getting bigger and bigger with the hardware pushing towards more power, and game engines getting better. With that said, the game potentially will satisfy Mass Effect fans.

According to a post, producer Mike Gamble says that the game is the biggest one they've done so far. This is in terms of content volume."This is the biggest we've ever gone, in terms of the number of pieces of content." Gamble adds that there will be combat, puzzles, narrative, and a lot more encounters as they continue working on the game. Not just that, the said encounters are also announced to be crucial parts of the game, Game Informer reports.

Mass Effect: Andromeda, Loyalty Missions

BioWare is aiming to make all the areas memorable, even if they are not included in the main storyline. Side quests are available in the form of loyalty missions which originated from Mass Effect 2. They may be optional but they also provide information on supporting characters, which makes a good review for those who already know and also provides a chance for first Mass Effect players to catch up with some juicy intrigues.

Mass Effect: Andromeda, The Nomad

Remember Mako? Well, it's still included in Mass Effect: Andromeda. You need this trusty all-terrain vehicle to explore planets. Planets will be much bigger so the more reason you will need to ride this baby while exploring. Also, exploring planets mean occasional hazardous environments so this big bug can be of assistance, lots of assistance. An improvement is being made for this vehicle in terms of handling, which reduces player frustrations with its controls.

Mass Effect: Andromeda, Drop Zone Tracking

Gamble also talked about Drop Zones where players just don't follow markers and follow it. He adds that players should explore and find stuff. "We don't want to just give you map markers to follow...We want you to explore, and find things, and stumble upon them." A concept of coloring out the lines is being put forward not by this feature only but for the whole game as well, Gamble adds.

Mass Effect: Andromeda, Enemy Bases

As usual, there will be hostile forces on planets which will be represented by enemy hideouts. Be aware that these bases are in the words of creative director Mac Walters, "pretty lengthy to take out" so proper preparation should be done before you hit them. Walters also adds that the game is a combination of scripted content and it is also systemic, which he describes as fun. Eliminating enemy bases is a crucial part of the whole game.

Mass Effect: Andromeda, Optional Fights

As to other huge games, optional fights will also be featured in Mass: Effect Andromeda. As per Gamble, "You'll find creatures and encounters that are so far overleveled." He also added that you can tell if you are in that area. You can also tell if you're ready for the battle or not so you can decide to come back later one once you've levelled high enough. The fact that these are optional fights, they can still prove to be critical in your journey throughout the game.

Mass Effect: Andromeda, Scanning And Crafting

Producer Fabrice Condominas says that you need to use the Scanning feature because it is "one of the most important exploration tools you'll have in the game," Of course, if you are in a new galaxy, there will lots of stuff to explore. The scanner captures interesting stuff that is in your environment. The information will then be sent back to the Tempest for analysis. The end result would be information that can give you access to crafting parts. Crafting then allows the player to upgrade weapons and armor.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to roll out for the Xbox One, PC, and PS4 this March 2017. Until then, keep gaming.
