The Last Of Us Part 2 Has A Very Haunting And Emotional Debut Trailer

Naughty Dog has just confirmed during the PSX that The Last of Us Part 2 is already on the works. And to prove that, they debuted a teaser trailer and it was very hauntingly beautiful and emotional.

The Last of Us Part 2 follows the story of Ellie and according to Neil Druckmann, director of the game, the central theme of the sequel will be about hate which was evident in the trailer.

The Last of Us 2 trailer started with a bruised hand, which turned out to be Ellie's, holding a guitar. She tuned the guitar and started playing a very sad song inspired by Psalm 23 although the lyrics are not the same. The song sings about the pain and the long-held feelings she had.

As she was singing, the camera panned outside to show Joel walking towards the house. There were also bloodied bodies strewn all over the place. Most of them were severely maimed and blood was flowing on the floor. As Joel reached the room where Ellie was, she sang the last of the lyrics which declared, "I will never walk the way of the righteous." Then Joel asked her what she intended to do about it and she answered that she will hunt and kill every last one of them.

"If the first game was really about the love between these two characters, this story is the counter of that. This is story is about hate, through Ellie this time. The first game you play as Joel, this game you play as Ellie," Druckmann said.

Ashley Johnson, who voiced Ellie in the game, said that in this sequel, Ellie has already evolved into a 19-year old young lady who have gone through a lot of difficulties.

Further in the interview, Drucmann asked fans to trust them with the characters and the new The Last of Us Part 2 game because they want to do it right.
